When Seemingly Bad Things Happen To Good People

“There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years” Luke 1:5-7

Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth are examples of good, godly, servants and lovers of God who WALK in and thoroughly follow the commandments of the Lord FULLY. They were holy, obedient, righteous, dedicated, diligent and blameless: serving God wholly in spirit and in truth.

Yet Elizabeth was barren and they both have grown so old that all hope seem lost.

There are many like this both in biblical times and in our days. People who fervently serve the Lord with thier whole heart YET they are lacking in a very important area of their lives that it seem like God is either wicked or there is a dark side in their lives that inhibits the blessedness of God in their lives.

Time will not permit to do an exegesis on Abraham and Sarah,  Elkanah and Hannah.

There are many barren women in the Bible: three of the four matriarchs (Sarah, Rebekah and Rachel) in Genesis; Hannah, mother of the prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 1-2); the anonymous wife of Manoah, mother of Samson (Judges 13:5); and the “great woman of Shunem,” also called the Shunammite, an acolyte of the prophet Elisha (2 Kings 4:8-44). In the New Testament Elizabeth wife of Zechariah the Priest (Luke 1:5-7).

I want to make bold and say most of the times, God was preserving their wombs for an important servant, minister, or spiritual elite that will serve in the kingdom of God and will be an instrument of propagating the gospel like John the baptist, Prophet Samuel, Samson the great and Billionaire Isaac.

In the same token, I also make bold to say even today… Any kind of delay in your life is not denial from the Lord.

SOMETIMES GOD SET APART THE BEST FOR LAST

If God said it or make a promise, He will do it (Numbers 23:19) …

Though it tarries, WAIT surely, slowly but steadfastly it shall come to pass ( Habakkuk 2:2-4)

May I say with boldness … I have been young but now I am old, I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor the descendant begging for bread. (Psalms 37:25)

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Surely there is an appointed time to favor you and birth forth that Promises of God (Psalms 102:13)

HOLD ON! HELP IS ON THE WAY!

And God will birth forth and He will make all things beautiful at its time (Eccl. 3:11)

HAVE FAITH IN THE ABILITY OF GOD TO DO AS HE HAS PROMISED!

Heaven and earth shall pass away but not one jot of his word shall pass away
NEVER!

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!…

MY GOD IS SET TO DO

… EXCEEDINGLY… ABUNDANTLY… FAR ABOVE… WHAT YOU ASK OR         THINK
GOD WILL SO IT ACCORDING TO THE POWER AT WORK IN YOU!

EPHESIANS 3:20
