Things have seasons that they manifest and purposes have times that they are designated to happen. In the purpose of God, this season is a time of refreshing and a season of restoration.
“And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s presence” Act 3:19 TPT
Restoration is never based on the actions of the recipient, but always on the love of the restorer in this case God. We are God’s workmanship, and products of His design. The plans of our restoration did not originate from us, but from God. If we embrace every aspect of His restoration, we will enter into a new sphere of life.
A time of restoration is a time of refreshing and bringing back what is lost and what ought to be that has been inhibited or rendered unproductive for a while. Restoration is bringing back something to the original intent in the heart of the father and it looks exactly like the original creation that God intended knowing that the thoughts of God unto us is good and He wishes to bless us beyond measures.
Literally, the word to restoration means recovery, revival, renewal, reclamation, rehabilitation, renovation, rebuilding, refurbishment, reconstruction, return, reinstatement, rejuvenation, change, reformation, cure, healing, remaking, and recompense. True restoration sets us up to experience something new, but a repair brings us to a place of functional utility after damage, which is not God’s will for us in this season!
“… when he is caught, he has to repay it seven times. He must give up all the possessions in his house” Prov. 6:31
The devil is the one who stole the good things that God ordained for your life, home, business and ministry [John 10:10 a]. Restoration is a time when the thief has been caught and what he has stolen shall be restored seven fold. A time of restoration is a time of endless laughter, joy, peace, blessings and prosperity. It is a transition from bondage to freedom, sickness to good health, poverty to prosperity, from being in the valley to the mountain top, from squabbles to peace and bliss and moving from a bad life to a good one!
“Therefore repent and convert so that your sins may be blotted out, when the TIMES OF REFRESHING shall come from the presence of the Lord” Act 3:19 KJV
Restoration is to return all things to their previous pure state or bring back to the original state of perfection. It is not only to return things to its pure state but sometimes to make it better than what it was. Even if our wrongdoing is the cause of inhibiting the blessings, we have come to the time of repentance which in seeking God’s forgiveness, forsaking the sin[s] that easily beset us and walking in the spirit not fulfilling again the lust of the flesh, all that has been stolen shall be restored back to us.
Restoration in the Bible is synonymous with healing, repairing, or returning to a previous blessed state of being. Psalm 51:12 says “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” Although we may stray from steadfast faith and obedience, there are numerous Bible verses about restoration we can look to for inspiration for renewal in our lives when we repent and do the first works.
Restoration is a recurring theme in scripture as those who strayed from the teachings and love of God must seek in order to restore their divine relationship with Him and procure all they lost in the process.
Restoration has to do with renewal, reinstating, rebirthing or reestablishing that which has been lost, hijacked, taken away or that which we ought to have that which we lost or ought to have but we never had. Restoration is when God divinely turn you captivities around or God lifts you up out of the miry clay. It is when God give you an exchange from bad to good or when God open the book of remembrance for you like He did for Hannah the wife of Elkanah.
