The word justification has to do with enjoying righteousness, initial and progressive salvation and all round victory. It is only when we look up to Jesus who was pierced on the cross like the brazen serpent in the wilderness that we can be saved and enjoy the benefits of being redeemed. There can be no spiritual strengthening and rightness until we cross over to walk in the spirit patterned after Christ. It is
God’s plan of reconciling the world to Himself. (2 Cor. 5:18-19). To be justified simply means “just as if I have never sinned”.
Therein is grace released to us to conform to God’s will in all facets of life. The person justified is declared to be entitled to all the
advantages and rewards arising from perfect obedience to the law. (Rom. 5:1–10). It pronounces that we possesses a righteousness
which perfectly and forever satisfies the law, namely, Christ’s righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 4:6–8), and so not operating on the
righteousness of the law or self righteousness.
